FUTURITY
The mission of the DACA Futurity is to provide a competition where DACA club member breeders and owners can showcase their puppies. Its goal is to encourage breeders/owners to show their own dogs and to share the results of their breeding program, the potential of their young dogs, and the future of the breed. The idea is these dogs will represent a breeder’s best effort in researching and planning high quality litters, based upon their knowledge, understanding and confidence of the genetic potential of the breeding. Futurity classes are judged just like any regular class at an AKC dog show. While there is ultimately a Best in Futurity and a Best of Opposite Sex in Futurity, these wins are prestigious only and no conformation points are awarded. Futurity is a nonregular competition where the breeder nominates a litter within 8 weeks of whelping and entered the puppies from that litter to compete.
